Radara, I have to agree like the actors it's the writing and the other stuff that's rubbing me the wrong way, as the shows would be better without all the other crap they seem to want to move to the forefront. Jodie Whittaker has captured the best qualities of the doctor and added her own spin, she has done out standing i love her. I see many influences from tom Baker to David in her version of the doctor two of my most favorite ones as well. They i think saddled her with too many side kicks right off the bat, and the others just seem to be left out in the cold most of the show sometimes. I just wish they would have added an alien or robot or something as a side kick like they have done in some past ones.
boy doctor who just seems to be getting worse by the episode, this one was just so random weirdness seemed like a short on the sci fi channel just not as good. I am not sure if this show can make it through a season with the writers doing a shit job, still like the main actress, and the others just look like they hate doing the crap lines as well.
Slow burn, the build up is killing me, obviously the kid has massive power in him maybe it's bound or locked away. Maybe his father is a demon and he is a half demon with bound powers. I like this show it's growing on me even with the horrible pooter similarities, "magic school" thing.
If you over look the winning about women oppressed and the fact she has to state it many times in the show, its ok. But the way they portrayed King James was bad, for example "He was strongly committed to a peace policy, and tried to avoid involvement in religious wars, especially the Thirty Years' War (1618–1648) that devastated much of Central Europe.". Now i am not sure what they are trying to do on this show but bashing of men and such is just annoying me. Again the Sci Fi element was almost a back seat to everything else, but started to redeem it's self around the end. If this show had to depend on fans it would have lost many from the start, but being a die hard whovian i am determined to stick with it and hope for better more strong Sci Fi shows in the weeks it have left. The redeeming quality was the main bad gay was a woman and the guy the King was shown as being a bit off track, which was left open but if following history this might have lead to him being as the books say staying out of such religious matters. But the episode is still problematic with many parts and just seems like the writers for the doctor can not make their minds up of what to do with him.
